We have recently received some funding from Citizens Advice Bureau for the Big Energy Saving Network. This means I am visiting various community groups across the county from now until the end of March offering free advice and information about reducing energy bills, switching suppliers and accessing help available to vulnerable households to help them stay warm and well over the winter months.
I am looking for a couple of volunteers who can facilitate one or two of these sessions in their local area. The support being offered is helping people to understand their energy bills, demonstrating how much they can save by switching suppliers, tips on saving energy in the home and checking if they are eligible for any help eg. Warm home discount, Priority Services Register etc.
I can provide training and all materials and factsheets. Examples of groups to target are community coffee mornings, friendship groups, craft clubs, book groups, baby and toddler, IT support, carers support, exercise classes.
So if you are interested in volunteering or if you know of a group that would benefit from a session then please get in touch. This is a great project that will hopefully reach people who need a little extra help over winter to save money and keep warm.
Let me know if you need any further info.
