Diddlebury Parish Counci

Please find attached the Notice of Uncontested Election to be displayed in the relevant parish area at your earliest convenience.

Section 21(2) of the Representation of the People Act 1985 states that if a Parish is quorate, it can commence advertising vacancies for co-option for the vacant seats once the Notice of Uncontested Election has been published.

Your council has 9 seats in total, and we have only received 8 nominations. Therefore there are 1 vacant seat(s) that you can co-opt to.

Parish Councils should bear in mind that no co-option decisions can be made until newly elected councillors take up office to make decisions on the council's behalf, which in this case will be Tuesday 6th May 2025.

Clerks are reminded that a Declaration of Acceptance of Office form should be completed before or at the first meeting of the parish council after 1 May 2025.

Regards,
